24.6 Noise Cancelling in Wideband CMOS LNAs

چکیده
Wideband low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) are used in receivers processing several signal channels such as TV cable modem, multiband mobile terminals and base stations. High sensitivity applications require sufficient gain, good isolation and a noise figure (NF=10·log10(F)) below 3dB over a wide frequency range. Moreover, source impedance matching (i.e. ZIN=RS) is usually wanted to limit reflections on a cable or to avoid alterations of the characteristics of the RF filter preceding the LNA. LNAs exploiting an inductor achieve such requirements, but only in a narrow frequency band around resonance. Little is found in literature about wideband LNAs in CMOS [1,2].

An inductorless wideband noise-cancelling CMOS low noise amplifier with variable-gain technique for DTV tuner application
In this paper, we propose an inductorless CMOS wideband low noise amplifier (LNA), operated in the range from 100 to 900MHz, with current reuse, mirror bias, gain control and input matching device using noise-cancellation technologies. The traditional wideband LNAs have different input reflection coefficient parameters (S11) at different gain control modes, and they always implement with induct...

Previously reported wideband CMOS low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) have difficulty in achieving both wideband input impedance matching and low noise performance at low power consumption and low supply voltage. We present a transformer noise-canceling wideband CMOS LNA based on a common-gate topology. The transformer, composed of the input and shunt-peaking inductors, partly cancels the noise origina...

متن کاملA New Ultra-Wideband Low Noise Amplifier With Continuous Gain Control
This paper presents a new variable gain low noise amplifier (VG-LNA) for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. The proposed VG-LNA uses a common-source (CS) with a shunt-shunt active feedback as an input stage to realize input matching and partial noise cancelling. An output stage consists of a gain-boosted CS cascode and a gain control circuit that moves the high resonant frequency to higher freq...

In this paper, an ultra-wideband (UWB) common gate low-noise amplifier (LNA) with -boosted and noise-cancelling techniques is presented. In this scheme we utilize gm-boosted stage for cancelling the noise of matching device. The bandwidth extension and flat gain are achieved by using of series and shunt peaking techniques. Simulated in .13 um Cmos technology, the proposed LNA achieved 2.38-3.4d...
